Art Plaques on a building in Chinatown

I’m not a student of art history, so I may be (and probably am) completely wrong about this. The style may be Chinese Tang Dynasty work, but it also reminds me quite a bit of Japanese art from the Edo period. The subject of each is one person playing a musical instrument, and another person engaged in some other activity.

These metal plaques are mounted several floors above the ground and provide a nice embellishment to an otherwise unattractive building. Size of each is approx. 5′ high by 4′ wide.
