Angelonce is an LA-based artist whose trademark character is an angry pink elephant named Charlie (yes, Charlie is pink. Do not listen to what your eyes are telling you. Charlie is pink, period. Trust me…. Charlie is pink). Angelonce gets around: I first discovered his work while snapping pics in San Francisco last year, and subsequently bumped into him while he was doing some mural work in Cambridge’s graffiti alley.
On a beautiful Saturday morning in November 2016, a group of artists gather in Cambridge’s Graffiti Alley to put up a large unity-themed mural. This was the centerpiece for the mural that covered almost the entire length of the alley.
A black backdrop was thrown up over existing tags before the artists got to work on the day’s project:
A bunch of artists showed up all at once on a beautiful day to collaborate on a full-wall mural collaboration in Cambridge’s graffiti alley. There were 8 different artists working all at once, including Merk Those (chibi-eye girl and toucan), Angelonce of LA (angry pink elephants), Ian Staber (calligraphy), and others who did not freely divulge their names.
Video panorama of the finished product, minus just a few minor finishing touches (everything shown here is fresh paint except the purple-haired lady by Merk Those at the very beginning of the clip):
